In December 2019, 1,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Pieksämäki Region (-32.7 %), of which 940 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 39 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 33 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (270 nights).
740 nights (+35.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 720 nights (-55.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 40,200 registered bed nights (+4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (-6.8 %) for foreigners in Pieksämäki Region, in total 49,000 (+2.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Pieksämäki Region, length of stay in December was on average 2.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pieksämäki Region on average 2.1 nights (+18.2 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+53.2 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.0 percent were domestic, and 25.0 percent were from foreign countries.
