Registered bed nights increased 430 percent (May)
In May 2021, 10,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Pielinen Karelia Region (+428.0 %), of which 10,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 132 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 420 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 2,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 430 percent from last year's May.
8,300 nights (+395.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (+656.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 47,200 registered bed nights (+77.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 620 (-83.9 %) for foreigners in Pielinen Karelia Region, in total 47,800 (+57.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 640 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.5 percent were domestic, and 1.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pielinen Karelia Region on average 1.9 nights (-0.74) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-1.4).
