Total of 19,400 bed nights (-18.6 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Pielinen Karelia Region in February 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 52 % and non-registered 48 %.
Between January and February, the number of paid bed nights was 34,500 (-19.1 %). Share of registered was 50 % and non-registered 50 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
10,200 registered bed nights
In February 2022, 10,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Pielinen Karelia Region (-16.0 %), of which 9,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 310 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 16 percent from last year's February.
9,100 nights (-14.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (-28.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 16,800 registered bed nights (-14.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 500 (+27.6 %) for foreigners in Pielinen Karelia Region, in total 17,200 (-13.7 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.8 percent were domestic, and 2.2 percent were from foreign countries.

Total accommodation sales in February were 942,000 euro (-57,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 32.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 637,000 euro (-28,600) and non-registered sales 305,000 euro (-28,400).
Total January-February sales were 1.7 million euro and they decreased 73,200 euro from the previous year.
