Registered bed nights increased 13 percent
In January 2017, 91,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Pirkanmaa (+13.2 %), of which 80,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's January.
56,200 nights (+33.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 35,500 nights (-8.6 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Pirkanmaa, length of stay in January was on average 1.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+2.3 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pirkanmaa on average 1.5 nights and foreigners 2.2 nights .

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.4 percent were domestic, and 8.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pirkanmaa on average 1.5 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.06).
