In December 2019, 89,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Pirkanmaa (-12.3 %), of which 78,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 10,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 24 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 12 percent from last year's December.
58,100 nights (-15.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 30,900 nights (-5.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 1.4 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 221,000 (-11.6 %) for foreigners in Pirkanmaa, in total 1.6 million (+2.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Pirkanmaa, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pirkanmaa on average 1.4 nights (-2.9 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-7.2 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pirkanmaa on average 1.4 nights (+0.0) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.16).
