Registered bed nights increased five percent
In June 2022, 50,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Piteå (+5.0 %), of which 33,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 154 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's June.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (9,500 nights).
11,000 rooms (+90.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (-27.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 107,000 registered bed nights (+23.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 43,500 (+122.7 %) for foreigners in Piteå, in total 150,000 (+41.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 69.9 percent were domestic, and 30.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Piteå on average 2.7 nights (-0.43) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+0.32).
