3,600 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 3,600 bed nights were recorded in Pohjois-Lappi (-91.9 %), of which 3,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4.0 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 90 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 100 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 92 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from France (2.0 nights).

1,300 nights (-96.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (-72.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 54,100 bed nights (-42.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 175,000 (-16.5 %) for foreigners in Pohjois-Lappi, in total 230,000 (-24.4 %) nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 190,000 bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pohjois-Lappi out of total bed nights was 1.9 % (-0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

960 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 93 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 99.9 percent were domestic, and 0.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pohjois-Lappi on average 3.8 nights (+0.34) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+1.5).

Registered accommodation sales in April were 194,000 euro (-2.2 million).

Registered January-April sales were 21.3 million euro and they decreased 3.0 million euro from the previous year.
