In May 2020, 3,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Pohjois-Lappi (-85.2 %), of which 3,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 65 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 100 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 85 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (15 nights).
1,100 nights (-85.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,200 nights (-84.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 57,400 registered bed nights (-44.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 175,000 (-21.4 %) for foreigners in Pohjois-Lappi, in total 233,000 (-28.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 36 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 36 percent compared to earlier year. In Pohjois-Lappi, length of stay in May was on average 3.3 nights and in Finland 2.5 nights (+43.7 %).
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pohjois-Lappi on average 3.3 nights (-2.6 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+3.7 %).
1,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 89 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.0 percent were domestic, and 1.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pohjois-Lappi on average 3.3 nights (+0.75) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.71).
