Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In August 2020, 37,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Pori Region (+8.6 %), of which 35,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's August.

24,600 nights (+13.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,300 nights (+0.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 155,000 registered bed nights (-14.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,600 (-41.0 %) for foreigners in Pori Region, in total 167,000 (-17.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.2 percent

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (-30.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (-6.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 149,000 nights (-81.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pori Region out of total registered bed nights was 2.2 % (+0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

21,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.2 percent were domestic, and 2.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pori Region on average 1.7 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.63).

Accommodation sales 1.8 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in August were 1.8 million euro (+101,000).

Registered January-August sales were 7.5 million euro and they decreased 3.5 million euro from the previous year.
