Paid bed nights

7,300 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 7,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Pori Region (-44.6 %), of which 5,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 45 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Hungary (300 nights).

2,300 nights (-55.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,000 nights (-38.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 25,300 registered bed nights (-21.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,700 (+16.1 %) for foreigners in Pori Region, in total 30,900 (-16.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 996,000 registered bed nights (-46.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 730,000 nights (-43.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 265,000 nights (-53.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pori Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Pori Region, length of stay in March was on average 1.8 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+14.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pori Region on average 1.5 nights (-2.8 %) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+30.0 %).

4,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 52 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.8 percent were domestic, and 9.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pori Region on average 1.5 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+1.3).
