Pori: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased two percent (February)
In February 2020, 11,400 bed nights were recorded in Pori (+2.2 %), of which 9,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased three percent and foreign bed nights increased 38 percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (320 nights).
4,800 nights (-13.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,700 nights (+18.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 17,500 bed nights (-5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (+21.6 %) for foreigners in Pori, in total 20,900 (-1.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+7.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 613,000 nights (+1.9 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Pori out of total bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.
7,500 tourists arrived to accommodation (February)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pori on average 1.4 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.56).
420 air travelers
The airport received a total of 420 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 132 percent.
Of local passengers, 2.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 97.8 %.
In addition, there were 370 passengers departing the airport (+103.9 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 780.

Accommodation sales 786,000 euro (February)
Total accommodation sales in February were 786,000 euro (-5,100). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 12.2 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 701,000 euro (-51,000) and Airbnb and HomeAway sales 85,200 euro (+46,000).
Total January-February sales were 1.5 million euro and they decreased 32,400 euro from the previous year.
