Registered bed nights increased 210 percent (March)

In March 2022, 9,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Porvoo (+207.9 %), of which 8,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 185 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 520 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 210 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Spain (320 nights).

3,300 nights (+446.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,500 nights (+152.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 15,800 registered bed nights (+45.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,200 (+349.0 %) for foreigners in Porvoo, in total 18,000 (+58.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+105.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+70.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 377,000 nights (+699.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Porvoo out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

6,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (March)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 330 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Porvoo on average 1.4 nights (-0.67) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-0.51).

The number of foreign visitors in March was 2,400 (+615.5 %). Out of them 1,400 were on a daytrip and 1,000 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and March was 4,600 (+270.1 %).
