12,100 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 12,100 bed nights (-3.5 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Porvoo in December 2019. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 70 % and non-registered 30 %.
Between January and December, the number of paid bed nights was 191,000 (+13.1 %). Share of registered was 74 % and non-registered 26 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased two percent
In December 2019, 8,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Porvoo (+1.7 %), of which 6,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's December.
2,900 nights (-48.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,500 nights (+106.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 101,000 registered bed nights (-0.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,100 (+17.4 %) for foreigners in Porvoo, in total 142,000 (+4.3 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Porvoo, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Porvoo on average 1.4 nights (-3.6 %) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+19.5 %).
5,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.1 percent were domestic, and 15.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Porvoo on average 1.4 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-0.41).

Total accommodation sales in December were 670,000 euro (-32,400). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 15.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 565,000 euro (+21,800) and non-registered sales 104,000 euro (-54,200).
Total January-December sales were 10.3 million euro and they increased 446,000 euro from the previous year.
