10,700 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 10,700 bed nights (+32.7 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Porvoo in December 2021. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 68 % and non-registered 32 %.
Between January and December, the number of paid bed nights was 166,000 (+13.8 %). Share of registered was 71 % and non-registered 29 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 89 percent
In December 2021, 7,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Porvoo (+89.3 %), of which 6,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 85 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 160 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 89 percent from last year's December.
3,200 nights (+202.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,000 nights (+45.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 104,000 registered bed nights (+37.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,500 (-2.4 %) for foreigners in Porvoo, in total 118,000 (+30.9 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Porvoo, length of stay in December was on average 1.3 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-5.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Porvoo on average 1.3 nights (+1.4 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-2.4 %).
5,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 119 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Porvoo on average 1.3 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.31).

Total accommodation sales in December were 695,000 euro (+119,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 17.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 573,000 euro (+294,000) and non-registered sales 122,000 euro (-175,000).
Total January-December sales were 10.8 million euro and they increased 2.2 million euro from the previous year.
