Bed nights in paid accommodation
Bed nights in registered accommodation increased 36 percent
In August 2023, 2,400 bed nights were registered in Äänekoski Region (+35.8 %), of which 2,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 35 percent and foreign bed nights increased 41 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased 36 percent from last year's August.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Spain (88 nights).
1,100 nights (+88.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+9.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 11,800 registered bed nights (+24.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,500 (+84.3 %) for foreigners in Äänekoski Region, in total 13,300 (+29.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 13 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Äänekoski Region, length of stay in August was on average 1.7 nights (+13.3 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (+0.0 %).
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.7 nights (+9.5 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+44.1 %).
1,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.6 percent were domestic, and 11.4 percent were from foreign countries.
