Bed nights in paid accommodation

25,600 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 25,600 bed nights were registered in Åre (-3.6 %), of which 20,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased four percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,600 nights).

6,600 rooms (-12.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (+4.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 254,000 registered bed nights (-4.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 48,900 (+17.4 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 303,000 (-1.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Åre, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights (-0.5 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.1 nights (-3.8 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+11.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.3 percent were domestic, and 23.7 percent were from foreign countries.
