Bed nights in paid accommodation

49,700 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 49,700 bed nights were registered in Båstad (-10.0 %), of which 43,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent from last year's August.

7,800 rooms (-1.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (+1.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 252,000 registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,800 (+15.9 %) for foreigners in Båstad, in total 280,000 (-2.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Båstad out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 44 percent compared to earlier year. In Båstad, length of stay in August was on average 1.9 nights (-43.7 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Båstad on average 1.9 nights (-37.9 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-79.7 %).
