Registered bed nights increased 67 percent

In January 2023, 126,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Bergen Region (+66.8 %), of which 102,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 67 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 65 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 67 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (4,100 nights).

58,500 nights (+88.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 47,200 nights (+43.0 %) by business visitors.

Market share 7.1 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bergen Region out of total registered bed nights was 7.1 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.5 % and foreign bed nights 5.7 %.

74,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 83 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.9 percent were domestic, and 17.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.7 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.29).
