Bed nights in paid accommodation

179,000 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 179,000 bed nights were registered in Blekinge County (-2.0 %), of which 129,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 50,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased two percent from last year's August.

25,400 rooms (-6.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 13,900 rooms (-8.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 640,000 registered bed nights (-3.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 169,000 (+2.2 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 808,000 (-2.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 2.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in August was on average 2.2 nights (-3.4 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.2 nights (-1.8 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-8.9 %).

80,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.5 percent were domestic, and 26.5 percent were from foreign countries.
