Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 62 percent

In January 2023, 23,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Bodø (+61.6 %), of which 20,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 57 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 109 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 62 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (840 nights).

8,300 nights (+75.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,300 nights (+1.4 %) by business visitors.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bodø out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

10,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.1 percent were domestic, and 8.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bodø on average 2.1 nights (+0.23) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.88).

59,600 air travelers

The airport received a total of 59,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 44 percent.

Of local passengers, 1.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 98.4 %.

In addition, there were 60,000 passengers departing the airport (+42.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 120,000 (+43.1 %).
