Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased seven percent

In August 2023, 1.2 million bed nights were registered in Copenhagen (+7.0 %), of which 432,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 779,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased seven percent from last year's August.

698,000 nights (+6.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 292,000 nights (+8.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.8 million registered bed nights (+7.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4.1 million (+22.9 %) for foreigners in Copenhagen, in total 7.0 million (+16.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 21.2 percent

Total of 5.7 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-2.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (-7.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Copenhagen out of total registered bed nights in Denmark was 21.2 % (+1.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 14.8 % and foreign bed nights 27.8 %.
