Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent

In June 2023, 292,000 bed nights were registered in Dalarna County (+3.8 %), of which 240,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 52,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 22 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (16,100 nights).

49,000 rooms (-2.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 26,800 rooms (+7.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 1.4 million registered bed nights (-6.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 238,000 (+12.4 %) for foreigners in Dalarna County, in total 1.7 million (-3.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.2 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Dalarna County out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 4.2 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.7 % and foreign bed nights 3.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Dalarna County, length of stay in June was on average 2.2 nights (-0.8 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Dalarna County on average 2.2 nights (-1.8 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+5.6 %).

134,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.9 percent were domestic, and 19.1 percent were from foreign countries.

Registered January-June sales were 755.1 million crowns and they increased 38.5 million crowns from the previous year.
