Bed nights in paid accommodation

18,700 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 18,700 bed nights were registered in Fredrikstad And Hvaler (-24.0 %), of which 15,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 27 percent and foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 24 percent from last year's August.

5,200 nights (-29.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,900 nights (-18.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 93,600 registered bed nights (-17.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,100 (+0.1 %) for foreigners in Fredrikstad And Hvaler, in total 107,000 (-16.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.1 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+8.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Fredrikstad And Hvaler out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Fredrikstad And Hvaler, length of stay in August was on average 1.9 nights (-11.2 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Fredrikstad And Hvaler on average 2.0 nights (-12.1 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.9 %).
