Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 65 percent

In January 2023, 11,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Gjøvik Region (+64.8 %), of which 10,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 830 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 77 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 65 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (260 nights).

1,600 nights (+34.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,300 nights (+44.7 %) by business visitors.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Gjøvik Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

5,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 86 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.1 percent were domestic, and 7.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Gjøvik Region on average 1.9 nights (-0.16) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.94).
