Bed nights in paid accommodation

447,000 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 447,000 bed nights were registered in Halland County (-10.9 %), of which 386,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 60,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent from last year's August.

51,300 rooms (+8.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 31,200 rooms (-11.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.0 million registered bed nights (-6.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 254,000 (+9.8 %) for foreigners in Halland County, in total 2.3 million (-5.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.3 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halland County out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 5.3 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.6 % and foreign bed nights 2.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Halland County, length of stay in August was on average 2.1 nights (-0.7 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.2 nights (-0.8 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+2.2 %).

210,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.9 percent were domestic, and 15.1 percent were from foreign countries.
