Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 54 percent

In January 2023, 9,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+53.9 %), of which 4,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 99 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 54 percent from last year's January.

4,400 rooms (+179.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (-28.3 %) by business visitors.

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (+36.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.5 million nights (+31.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 640,000 nights (+60.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

3,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 52 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 55.1 percent were domestic, and 44.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.4 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+0.29).
