Bed nights in registered accommodation increased 12 percent

In August 2023, 31,500 bed nights were registered in Haugesund (+12.2 %), of which 23,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased 12 percent from last year's August.

Between January and August, 147,000 registered bed nights (+8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 39,500 (-10.8 %) for foreigners in Haugesund, in total 186,000 (+4.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.1 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+8.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haugesund out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.
