Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased 11 percent

In June 2023, 86,400 bed nights were registered in Helgeland (+10.6 %), of which 56,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 30,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and foreign bed nights increased two percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased 11 percent from last year's June.

26,200 nights (-0.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,700 nights (+50.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 158,000 registered bed nights (+9.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 55,800 (+1.0 %) for foreigners in Helgeland, in total 214,000 (+7.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 4.6 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (-5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+12.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helgeland out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 1.9 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay increased 13 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Helgeland, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights (+13.1 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-3.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 1.8 nights (+12.7 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+14.7 %).

46,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 67.0 percent were domestic, and 33.0 percent were from foreign countries.
