Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In January 2023, 18,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Helgeland (+17.9 %), of which 15,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (740 nights).

5,100 nights (+25.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,600 nights (+58.8 %) by business visitors.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helgeland out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

10,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.5 percent were domestic, and 13.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 1.8 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-1.0).
