In January 2023, 3,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Hitra And Frøya (-10.1 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 230 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (57 nights).

196 nights (-50.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,500 nights (+88.6 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hitra And Frøya out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hitra And Frøya on average 1.7 nights (-0.37) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-1.4).
