In July 2024, 47,100 bed nights were registered in Inari-Saariselkä (-0.9 %), of which 30,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased one percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (3,900 nights).
39,100 nights (+1.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,000 nights (-11.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 125,000 registered bed nights (-3.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 247,000 (+21.6 %) for foreigners in Inari-Saariselkä, in total 372,000 (+11.9 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Forecast of bed nights in paid accommodation
In September 2024, the number of bed nights in paid accommodation is expected to increase by 18.0 % compared to the previous year in Inari-Saariselkä.
The number of bed nights is expected to increase by 13.3 % in the next six months compared to the previous year.
The forecast is based on a time series model (SARIMA), which is supplemented with exogenous (external) explanatory variables.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 56.0 percent were domestic, and 44.0 percent were from foreign countries.
