Bed nights in paid accommodation

130,000 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 130,000 bed nights were registered in Jämtland County (-11.7 %), of which 91,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent from last year's June.

20,200 rooms (-19.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,200 rooms (-4.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 779,000 registered bed nights (-10.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 147,000 (+3.8 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 926,000 (-8.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 1.9 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights (-3.9 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.0 nights (-6.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+2.0 %).

67,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 68.9 percent were domestic, and 31.1 percent were from foreign countries.
