Bed nights in paid accommodation

93,300 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 93,300 bed nights were registered in Jönköping (-1.2 %), of which 68,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased two percent and foreign bed nights decreased less than one percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased one percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (8,300 nights).

24,500 rooms (-1.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,800 rooms (+6.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 285,000 registered bed nights (+3.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 66,200 (+8.9 %) for foreigners in Jönköping, in total 351,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jönköping out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 1.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Jönköping, length of stay in June was on average 1.6 nights (-8.5 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jönköping on average 1.6 nights (-9.1 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-7.0 %).

60,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.2 percent were domestic, and 26.8 percent were from foreign countries.
