Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In January 2023, 13,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kalmar (+13.3 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 980 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's January.

3,600 rooms (+5.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,000 rooms (+49.5 %) by business visitors.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (+36.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.5 million nights (+31.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 640,000 nights (+60.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kalmar out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

8,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kalmar on average 1.7 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.46).
