Bed nights in paid accommodation

50,000 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 50,000 bed nights were registered in Karlskrona (-7.0 %), of which 38,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased four percent and foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased seven percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (6,000 nights).

8,100 rooms (-17.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,200 rooms (-1.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 125,000 registered bed nights (+1.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 25,300 (-32.1 %) for foreigners in Karlskrona, in total 150,000 (-6.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Karlskrona out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Karlskrona, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights (-8.5 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Karlskrona on average 2.1 nights (-3.7 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-22.4 %).

24,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.6 percent were domestic, and 23.4 percent were from foreign countries.
