Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 24 percent

In January 2023, 8,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kongsberg Region (+24.4 %), of which 7,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 26 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 24 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (310 nights).

1,600 nights (+131.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (+13.8 %) by business visitors.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kongsberg Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

4,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 47 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.4 percent were domestic, and 10.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kongsberg Region on average 2.2 nights (-0.17) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-2.3).
