In August 2023, 52,200 bed nights were registered in Kuopio (-5.2 %), of which 47,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased five percent from last year's August.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,100 nights).
35,900 nights (+4.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,300 nights (-20.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 350,000 registered bed nights (-3.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,500 (-9.3 %) for foreigners in Kuopio, in total 372,000 (-3.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Kuopio, length of stay in August was on average 1.7 nights (-3.5 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (+0.0 %).
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuopio on average 1.7 nights (-1.5 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-22.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.5 percent were domestic, and 9.5 percent were from foreign countries.
