Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased six percent

In June 2023, 51,500 bed nights were registered in Leksand (+5.9 %), of which 46,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,200 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased two percent and foreign bed nights increased 54 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased six percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,100 nights).

9,900 rooms (-0.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (-19.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 117,000 registered bed nights (-4.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,200 (+32.4 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 124,000 (-3.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in June was on average 2.1 nights (-2.2 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.1 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+4.5 %).

24,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.6 percent were domestic, and 9.4 percent were from foreign countries.
