Bed nights in paid accommodation

26,400 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 26,400 bed nights were registered in Lidingö (-2.7 %), of which 20,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and foreign bed nights increased 48 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased three percent from last year's August.

9,400 rooms (+2.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,900 rooms (-14.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 148,000 registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,700 (+59.6 %) for foreigners in Lidingö, in total 172,000 (+10.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lidingö out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Lidingö, length of stay in August was on average 1.6 nights (+1.0 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lidingö on average 1.5 nights (-2.1 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-0.7 %).

16,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.4 percent were domestic, and 15.6 percent were from foreign countries.
