Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In January 2023, 62,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Lillehammer Region (+18.0 %), of which 43,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 19,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (7,000 nights).

28,300 nights (-6.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,200 nights (+72.5 %) by business visitors.

Market share 3.5 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lillehammer Region out of total registered bed nights was 3.5 % (-1.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.2 % and foreign bed nights 4.5 %.

24,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 48 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.8 percent were domestic, and 20.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lillehammer Region on average 2.2 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 3.8 nights (-1.9).
