Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased one percent

In June 2023, 112,000 bed nights were registered in Lillehammer Region (+0.7 %), of which 78,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 33,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased one percent from last year's June.

42,800 nights (-3.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,900 nights (+5.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 353,000 registered bed nights (-2.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 142,000 (+15.0 %) for foreigners in Lillehammer Region, in total 495,000 (+1.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.4 percent

Total of 4.6 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (-5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+12.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lillehammer Region out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 2.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Lillehammer Region, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights (-2.5 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-3.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lillehammer Region on average 2.0 nights (+0.1 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-2.3 %).

60,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 64.4 percent were domestic, and 35.6 percent were from foreign countries.
