Bed nights in paid accommodation

64,100 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 64,100 bed nights were registered in Lindesnes And Lyngdal (-6.9 %), of which 38,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 25,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased seven percent from last year's August.

7,700 nights (+12.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,600 nights (+109.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 188,000 registered bed nights (-5.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 85,400 (+8.2 %) for foreigners in Lindesnes And Lyngdal, in total 273,000 (-1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.1 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+8.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lindesnes And Lyngdal out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 1.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Lindesnes And Lyngdal, length of stay in August was on average 2.5 nights (-0.5 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lindesnes And Lyngdal on average 2.9 nights (+8.2 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-11.3 %).

26,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 51.5 percent were domestic, and 48.5 percent were from foreign countries.
