Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent

In August 2023, 75,400 bed nights were registered in Linköping (+4.5 %), of which 58,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased five percent and foreign bed nights increased four percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent from last year's August.

22,800 rooms (+4.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,600 rooms (+0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 407,000 registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 81,300 (+9.0 %) for foreigners in Linköping, in total 489,000 (+4.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.9 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Linköping out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.9 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Linköping, length of stay in August was on average 1.7 nights (-10.0 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 1.6 nights (-7.1 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-22.3 %).

45,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.3 percent were domestic, and 18.7 percent were from foreign countries.
