Bed nights in paid accommodation

2,800 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 2,800 bed nights were registered in Mäntyharju (-7.1 %), of which 2,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and foreign bed nights increased 41 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased seven percent from last year's August.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (290 nights).

2,700 nights (-6.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 38 nights (-40.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 12,200 registered bed nights (-8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,100 (-15.5 %) for foreigners in Mäntyharju, in total 13,300 (-8.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.3 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-0.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.7 million nights (-3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 606,000 nights (+7.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mäntyharju out of total registered bed nights in Finland was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Mäntyharju, length of stay in August was on average 2.5 nights (+6.5 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (+0.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mäntyharju on average 2.3 nights (+3.8 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+11.5 %).

1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.2 percent were domestic, and 12.8 percent were from foreign countries.
