Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased 29 percent

In June 2023, 26,900 bed nights were registered in Mariestad (+29.3 %), of which 21,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 30 percent and foreign bed nights increased 25 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased 29 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,000 nights).

3,300 rooms (-0.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (+145.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 52,100 registered bed nights (+21.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,900 (+19.8 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 63,100 (+21.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 52 percent compared to earlier year. In Mariestad, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights (-52.2 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.9 nights (-48.2 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-65.5 %).

14,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 170 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.5 percent were domestic, and 22.5 percent were from foreign countries.
