Bed nights in paid accommodation

18,800 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 18,800 bed nights were registered in Mellerud (-22.8 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 27 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 23 percent from last year's August.

1,300 rooms (-2.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 610 rooms (+146.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 65,300 registered bed nights (-15.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,500 (+1.6 %) for foreigners in Mellerud, in total 95,900 (-10.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mellerud out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Mellerud, length of stay in August was on average 2.4 nights (-4.2 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mellerud on average 2.5 nights (-2.3 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-7.0 %).

7,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 64.1 percent were domestic, and 35.9 percent were from foreign countries.
