Registered bed nights increased 21 percent

In January 2023, 52,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Møre Og Romsdal (+20.8 %), of which 48,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 14 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 21 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (760 nights).

14,800 nights (+24.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 24,200 nights (+7.5 %) by business visitors.

Market share 3.0 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Møre Og Romsdal out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (-0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

29,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.4 percent were domestic, and 5.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Møre Og Romsdal on average 1.8 nights (-0.16) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.54).
