Registered bed nights increased 40 percent

In January 2023, 48,900 registered bed nights were recorded in North Savonia (+40.0 %), of which 46,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 40 percent from last year's January.

25,700 nights (+20.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 23,200 nights (+70.6 %) by business visitors.

Market share 3.2 percent

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+48.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 994,000 nights (+43.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 536,000 nights (+56.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of North Savonia out of total registered bed nights was 3.2 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

27,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 57 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Savonia on average 1.8 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-0.58).

Ferry arrivals from different harbors
