Bed nights in paid accommodation

33,900 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 33,900 bed nights were registered in Nyköping (-7.9 %), of which 28,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased eight percent from last year's August.

6,800 rooms (-9.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,400 rooms (-11.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 177,000 registered bed nights (-1.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 42,800 (+18.4 %) for foreigners in Nyköping, in total 220,000 (+1.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nyköping out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Nyköping, length of stay in August was on average 1.7 nights (+2.2 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.7 nights (+2.7 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.9 %).

19,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.1 percent were domestic, and 14.9 percent were from foreign countries.
