Bed nights in paid accommodation

13,500 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 13,500 bed nights were registered in Oppdal (-52.4 %), of which 12,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 45 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 79 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 52 percent from last year's August.

8,200 nights (-7.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,800 nights (+0.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 106,000 registered bed nights (-4.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,200 (-31.3 %) for foreigners in Oppdal, in total 117,000 (-7.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.1 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+8.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oppdal out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.3 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 0.98 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 52 percent compared to earlier year. In Oppdal, length of stay in August was on average 0.98 nights (-51.9 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oppdal on average 1.2 nights (-47.3 %) and foreigners 0.37 nights (-75.6 %).

13,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.8 percent were domestic, and 25.2 percent were from foreign countries.
