Bed nights in paid accommodation

172,000 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 172,000 bed nights were registered in Örebro County (-9.6 %), of which 135,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent from last year's August.

30,700 rooms (+18.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 27,200 rooms (+1.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 796,000 registered bed nights (-0.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 186,000 (+9.5 %) for foreigners in Örebro County, in total 982,000 (+1.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Örebro County out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 2.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Örebro County, length of stay in August was on average 1.9 nights (-6.7 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Örebro County on average 1.9 nights (-5.8 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-11.4 %).

89,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.2 percent were domestic, and 18.8 percent were from foreign countries.
