Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent

In June 2023, 23,300 bed nights were registered in Orust (+4.4 %), of which 19,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased three percent and foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased four percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,900 nights).

3,300 rooms (+124.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 530 rooms (+11.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 40,500 registered bed nights (+2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,800 (+22.8 %) for foreigners in Orust, in total 46,300 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Orust out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 79 percent compared to earlier year. In Orust, length of stay in June was on average 2.2 nights (-79.3 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Orust on average 2.2 nights (-80.0 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-75.3 %).

10,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 400 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.9 percent were domestic, and 17.1 percent were from foreign countries.
